BREEDING GIRLS

As a Breeding and Research Facility, it is our commission to continually improve and
refine the breed. So we retire our breeding
girls early at 3 to 4 years old to forever homes or
to other breeders as we raise their sons and
daughters to carry on their wonderful tradition. All
our breeding stock have non shedding allergy
friendly coats and are bred for the highly intuitive
and sweet temperament that has made them famous
throughout the world.

stage of changing into his adult coat and his
fleece is remaining superb. All the years of
trying to develop this elusive "Perfect easy
care stunning looking soft luxurious coat has
finally paid off.

As Breeding and
Research Facilities
it is our commission to
continue refining and
perfecting the breed by
moving forward.
So it has usually been
our practice to retire
our Breeding dogs or
allow them out to other
breeders, once we have
their progeny to breed
on with into the next
generation.
Numbers are kept to a
minimum which allows
each and every boy or
girl to live as a much
loved individual in
either one of our
carefully selected
Guardian Homes, or here
with us.
Male breeding dogs have
a profound influence on
their breed.
Whereas a female can be
expected to produce at
best, 80 to a hundred
puppies throughout her
lifetime, a male can
produce many hundreds,
and even thousands of
offspring if given the
opportunity. Add
to this, the current
modern trend to freeze
semen, which can be used
long after the dog has
passed on, and it is
easy to see why the Stud
Dog needs to be chosen
with utmost care. A Stud male animal of
any species is
judged on his pre-potency,
which means that not
only must he exhibit the
best phonetic traits
himself, but he should
also demonstrate his
ability to pass
along these traits to
his progeny over a
diverse female
population. Line
breeding and In Breeding
are often done in the
pursuit of pre-potency
in breeding stock.
In 'Pure' Breeds, an
inbreeding co-efficient
of 30% is considered to
be quite low and quite
acceptable.
