Angela's Story...And The
Birth of the Australian
Labradoodle
Hi, my name is Angela and I have been involved with animals for as long as I can remember.
I have raised,
bred and
exhibited German
Shepherds and
Scotch Collies
[Rough]
and have also
bred and shown
Maltese and Shi
Tzu, and West
Highland Whites.
(under the
prefix of
Silhouette and
later Crystalice)
My first introduction to dogs was
having my feet unwrapped from my baby blanket so
that a German Shepherd could kiss my feet and learn
my scent as belonging to my mother who owned her.
I have to admit that I don't remember this first
meeting! But my love of dogs began right then
and there I think, because I can't remember a time
when I have not been surrounded by dogs and loving
them.I
have handled
several breeds
to success
professionally I have bred and trained for personal protection Schutzhund, Dobermans, Rottweillers and Shepherds. (under the prefix of Silhouette
and to keep the
superb Shepherd
tradition
Grafenburg under
my Mums name) I was the youngest graduate from the Michel Tucker Dog Psychology and Training School. Dog and Horse psychology is still a main part of my life. And when time permits I take dogs and horses in for retraining and problem solving. I am also enjoying a new challenge - training assistance dogs for private owners and exporting them all over the world to become a much loved and relied upon canine friend. I have also had the pleasure of instructing wheelchair obedience classes.

WHY WAS A NEW
DOG BREED NECESSARY?
With so many
years of successful canine activities behind me one
could well wonder why I wanted to leave the pure
breed dog world and embark on the challenges of
developing a brand new breed. The inspiration
came to me due to the increasing numbers of people
in the world who are allergic to dogs and had such a
restricted choice of non shedding breeds. For
instance many men don't want to own a Poodle .
There was a need for a brand new breed which would
capture the hearts of everyone, be intelligent, non
aggressive, not affect people's allergies and which
could be developed outside the constraints of canine
bureaucracy to be a healthy strong breed not plagued
with the dozens of inherited diseases shared amongst
pure breeds.
Hence - THE
ASD!

Without
letting you in on just how old I am, I can say that
I have enjoyed gathering practical experience and
knowledge over an intense span of 30+ years. My
hobby is breeding, riding, training, and showing
Quarter Horses - when I can manage the time!
I am a retired "A" class artificial insemination technician for dairy cattle,
a retired licensed freeze brander for cattle and
horses, (the first female one in Australia) and also carry out the A.I. (artificial
insemination) procedures at the Center.
