Still Developing, Dreaming and Loving the “True Blue” Ozzi Doodle.

June 17, 2007

We have Officially launched the Tegan Australian Service Dog Donation Program and would appreciate every one who would be interested in helping, In Summery... For the last 2 years we have had a field trial in operation using the TopdogUSA.org self training program, this does not suit everyone but I know there are many many people out there that have the ability to train a dog for personal service if they only had the support they need. My dream is to start puppies in general training with basic obedience and manners, Teach them to wheel and negotiate crowds, restaurants and shopping malls then donate them to individuals who will participate in the training program. Our field trial has exceeded all possible hopes and I have a great respect and belief in the training program, I know it is going to bring purpose, joy and freedom to many and help the service training centres who have so many needing and so few to offer. The average cost to professionally train a specialist service dog is 25,000 to 38,000 what that means to me is that there are a lot of people out there who really would benefit physically and emotionally having a service dog will never be able to get one, the Tegan Service Program is being developed to help this gap close and we need help to make it a reality so all ideas gratefully received, We need service dog news :Like" Abby and Caleb, we need sponsorship programs to help pay for the shipping of Tegan Service dogs to there new handlers, and in the future we will need sponsorship funds to help with costs for the dog and handler to travel to Top Dog for there graduation and certification, We will need Wheel Chair donations both motor and push, we will need donations of walking frames and funds to purchase specialty harnesses, there will be lots to do and help with.
My Plan is to be able to afford to donate 1 puppy from every 10 puppies I breed, A Tall order since I am rebuilding my life from ground Zero but I believe is will happen, I am so excited. I have added a new Tegan Australian Service dog page to the web site so now I need photos and news and sponsorship sugestions etc, Spread the word lets make this happen and give these incredible Labradoodles a chance to shine in what they were created to do best. Thanks
