Are you confused? It is not surprising, with the amount of misinformation about the Labradoodle and the Australian Labradoodle on the internet!!  Are you wondering why this has happened? Tegan was there right at the beginning and have watched with interest, as the saga has unfolded, especially in America, just as it did in Australia years ago. No dog breed in history has rocketed to international fame and popularity as quickly as the Australian Labradoodle.  High profile media attention has seen a sudden upsurge of many brand new breeders both in Australia and across the world and there is a plethora of inaccurate information in the media and also on the internet. As the creator of this unique Australian Labradoodle, we plead with you to make haste slowly, take your time and be sure that the breeder and puppy you choose will bring years of joy to your family. Tegan will help you anyway twe can, so be patient, ask and learn. Be sure that your new family member IS what you have been led to believe it is. Be very careful with "Clubs and registration bodies" as these are often manned buy the very breeders who do not practice what they may preach. As at 2009 there is no Club or governing body 100% dedicated to the breeds past, present and future. My Final dream prior to retiring that I was not able to peruse was to change the Labradoodle name, Partly to give this breed the distinction it deserves and partly to reduce the cesspool of "Multi gen, Origen, pure, Authentic,....... confusion and loss of integrity.
The name I chose was THE AUSTRALIAN COMPANION DOG. ACD for short. This name rolls of the tongue easily and describes exactly what the dog breed was created to be, Even if working as a service or therapy dog he is still foremost your companion, I hope my name change will one day come true, so if you like the name help me make it a reality and lobby to all you talk to.
